In a continued effort to promote inclusion and rights-based support for children with disabilities, Samphia Foundation, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kullu, organized a Legal Awareness Camp at our centre on [Insert Date].

The session was led by Sh. D.R. Bhardwaj, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Counsel, who provided insightful guidance to parents and staff about various legal support mechanisms. The focus was on key initiatives under NALSA, including:

  • Child Friendly Legal Services Scheme 2024, which aims to make the justice system more accessible and sensitive to the needs of children, especially those in vulnerable situations.
  • Legal Services to Mentally Ill Persons and Persons with Intellectual Disabilities Scheme 2024, which ensures respectful, accessible, and free legal aid for individuals with mental health conditions and intellectual disabilities.

The session also emphasized the importance of being aware of one’s legal rights, and how marginalized groups such as children, women, persons with disabilities, and SC/ST communities can avail of free legal assistance under the legal services framework.

This camp was a significant step toward legal empowerment, ensuring that justice reaches every child and family, particularly those facing the challenges of disability.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the DLSA Kullu team for their dedication and collaborative spirit.

Together, let’s build a more inclusive and just society.
