Bridging Faith and Therapy: Raising Disability Awareness in Rural Communities
We live in a society where most people reside in rural areas and have deep faith in village deities. Significant challenges arise in the field of disability when a child shows signs of a disability. In such cases, rural communities often take the child to a deity, believing that divine intervention will heal them. However, according to medical science, the child requires therapy.
In such situations, raising awareness among the general public and those associated with deities about the importance of therapy becomes a crucial task. This is why the Samphia Kaji Inclusive Team participates every year in the international festival held in Kullu district, educating hundreds of people connected to local deities about disability. The goal is to ensure that children receive timely therapy at appropriate centers.
