An Inter-Generation Bonding Program was successfully organized by the District Welfare Office, Kullu at Devsadan, bringing together senior citizens and members of the younger generation from across Kullu. The event created a vibrant platform for dialogue, shared experiences, and mutual understanding between generations.

Samphia’s Contribution to Senior Citizen Well-being

On this meaningful occasion, Samphia actively participated by setting up its TOW (Therapy on Wheels) unit to conduct a Free Physiotherapy Camp for senior citizens. The initiative aimed to make therapeutic services accessible and provide on-the-spot physiotherapy consultation and support to elderly participants.

Expert Talk on Geriatric Care

Adding academic and professional value to the program, Dr. Shruti Bhardwaj, Executive Director of Samphia, delivered an insightful presentation on the topic “Role of Occupational Therapy in Geriatric Care.”

Her session highlighted:

  • The importance of occupational therapy in maintaining independence among the elderly
  • Strategies to improve daily living skills
  • The role of therapy in enhancing physical, emotional, and social well-being

The presentation was well received and appreciated by participants for its practical insights and relevance.

Promoting Awareness and Inclusion

In addition to therapeutic services, Samphia’s Inclusion Team distributed awareness pamphlets to educate attendees about available services, disability inclusion, and the importance of early intervention and rehabilitation support.
