Why Aash and Samphia?

People are always asking us about our name. What is Samphia? Why Aash?

Aash means Hope and Samphia means Ability in the local kullvi dialect of Kullu valley. We wanted to be identified by the essence of our work and the community we work with which is best borne by our Pahari language. Our word inspiration comes from the book “The Kulu Dialect of Hindi” by author A. H. Diack, edited by Kulwant Singh and published by Thara Kardu.

We are committed to bringing hope to children and families of children with diverse abilities by helping the community focus on their abilities.
